Areas Of Expertise And Educational Engagement

I have degrees in philosophy, theology and nursing, and a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies, with the area of specialization in Organizational Leadership, from Johnson University School of Business and Public Leadership, Tennessee, USA.

I am a registered nurse with passion and extensive years of experience in the areas of mental health and addictions. I work and collaborate with professionals from various disciplines such as: psychiatrists, medical doctors, social workers, pharmacists, registered nurses, occupational therapists, to mention but a few, in creating comprehensive and personalized care plan toward accomplishing clients’ goals of health and wellness.

My work includes coaching and mentoring students toward acquiring the leadership competencies for professional practice, working closely with clients with mental health needs and addictions issues. Sessional Instructor of theory courses: Mental Health Nursing Course and Psychology: Journey Across the Lifespan Course.

My wife Melody and I have three children. I describe myself as a thoughtful and a compassionate professional, who practices through the lens, and with the philosophy of servant leadership model and collaborative problem solving, in coaching and mentoring emerging leaders, and in caring for clients. As a curious investigator, I perceive phenomenology as both a way of learning and a way of living, and I celebrate the uniqueness of individual experience. I believe that everyone has a narrative and a story to tell, and as such, through thoughtful deliberations, insights could be obtained and shared.

My Affiliations: Canadian Nurses Association, College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta, United Nurses of Alberta.
